Very often, one of the first questions our customers ask is «Do you carry out independent expertise?»
The Forensic expert kollegium is a non-state forensic institution. Currently, there are two opposite stereotypes:
- State forensic experts are paid from the state budget, therefore, they cannot be independent.
- Private forensic experts cannot be independent, since they perform work for the client's money.
Both of these theses are not correct. A forensic expert is more than just a person with specialized knowledge who performs work commissioned by investigative and judicial authorities. A forensic expert must be a highly moral person who strives to establish only the truth and does not even allow the thought of the possibility of fabricating false conclusions. A forensic expert does not only subject all facts and events to a rigorous critical assessment. It is also a person who constantly doubts himself, not because he gives himself up to chance due to his incompetence, but because he is constantly analyzing whether he has done everything possible to establish the Truth. That is why the motto of the Forensic expert kollegium «Explorationes expertae proxima via ad vero est» is translated from Latin as «Expert research is the closest way to Truth».
Forensic expertise is inherently independent. Unfortunately, over the past 25 years in Belarus there have been cases of bribery of employees of both state and private expert institutions, which were at that time performing forensic expertise. But these people have become outcasts in the rather small world of forensic experts, and their former colleagues have not only lost all respect for them, but cannot call them even «specialists» anymore. For us, being a forensic expert means too much.
The Forensic expert kollegium was founded and is developing by the forensic experts themselves without the patronage of high-ranking officials or interested business structures. Our name corresponds to its essence: at the Forensic expert kollegium, experts independently develop various areas of expert activity under general scientific and methodological guidance. That is why we are one of the largest and most dynamically developing forensic institutions in Belarus with a wide range of forensic expertise and expertise of goods and services. We have earned recognition not only in the Republic of Belarus, but also abroad - we are assigned examinations and special studies by judicial authorities and organizations of the CIS countries (Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) and Western European countries (Czech Republic, Germany, Austria).
All examinations carried out at the Forensic expert kollegium are independent, because we have forensic experts who have passed a rather strict selection in our organization, licensed by the State committee of forensic expertise of the Republic of Belarus (Ministry of justice of the Republic of Belarus), who annually undergo special training on the latest modern technologies in their field, fully corresponding in their qualifications and moral qualities to the title of a forensic expert.
