A thermotechnical calculation of enclosing structures is a set of actions aimed at reducing energy consumption for the creation of normalized parameters of the indoor microclimate.
The study of the thermal characteristics of enclosing structures gives an idea of the correctness of the selected heating sources, heating equipment and contributes to the selection of proper heat-insulating materials. As a rule, the need for thermotechnical calculations arises:
- when designing buildings and structures newly built or reconstructed for various purposes;
- when performing repair work;
- when insulating buildings, structures, premises or individual enclosing structures for various purposes;
- when choosing heating equipment.
Conducting a thermotechnical calculation helps to reduce costs when carrying out the required type of work, and also prevents the presence of drafts in the premises, the formation of cracks in the enclosing structures, condensate, mold and the development of fungi.
The development of a thermotechnical calculation is carried out in accordance with the mandatory requirements of building regulations SP 2.04.01-2020 «Construction heat engineering», SP 2.04.02-2020 «Thermal protection of residential and public buildings. Energy performance», interstate standard GOST 30494-2011 «Residential and public buildings. Indoor microclimate parameters».

- calculation of heat losses through building envelopes;
- calculation of the thickness of the insulation;
- calculation of the heat resistance of the room;
- calculation of specific energy consumption for heating and ventilation for the heating period of residential and public buildings;
- calculation of specific energy consumption for water heating in the hot water supply system of multi-apartment buildings;
- calculation of the overall energy efficiency index of multi-apartment residential buildings.
The production of heat engineering calculation is influenced by a number of factors (the area of the premises, the purpose and type of the object, the glazing of the object, the presence of thermal insulation, the type of ventilation, the temperature and humidity of the room, the climatic conditions of the region, etc.), on the basis of which the questions posed are resolved.
