The Forensic expert kollegium conducts research on the details of heating systems, pipeline shut-off valves, water meters, as a result of the destruction of which residential and industrial premises were flooded, in order to determine the cause of flooding.
Unfortunately, there are frequent cases of flooding of residential and industrial premises as a result of damage to the integrity of elements of heating systems, pressure pipelines, pipeline shut-off valves, water flow meters.
The most common causes of floods are:
- poor-quality manufacturing of parts for water supply and heating systems (manufacturing defect);
- use of unacceptable materials in the manufacture of parts for water supply and heating systems (manufacturing defect);
- poor-quality installation of parts of water supply and heating systems (manufacturing defect);
- unacceptable excess pressure in the pipelines of water supply and heating systems (not a product defect, but an improper provision of water supply or heating services);
- external unacceptable impact (percussive, thermal) on parts of water supply and heating systems (manufacturing or operational defect);
- intentional opening of water-stopping valves (not a defect, but an unauthorized action of a certain person).
If necessary, when conducting a study of parts of heating systems, pipeline shut-off valves, water flow meters, the specialists of the Forensic expert kollegium perform engineering strength calculations. Strength calculations of pipelines are carried out using licensed software - computer-aided design system KOMPAS 3D-V16 with AWP FEM strength analysis system.
