The Forensic expert kollegium conducts expertise of all types of metal products and their alloys.
As a rule, to expertise are submitted metal products and their alloys, that have undergone complete or partial destruction.
There are brittle and plastic fractures of products made of metals and their alloys, the nature of which is determined by the physicochemical properties of the materials from which they are made.
Based on the expert practice of the Forensic expert kollegium, the destruction of metal products and their alloys occurs:
- due to exceeding the maximum allowable loads due to violation of the rules for the operation of these products;
- due to improper manufacture of the products themselves in the process of casting, metalworking or surface heat treatment;
- due to improper choice of material for the manufacture of the product;
- due to improper installation (assembly) of product parts in the process of their manufacture;
- due to oxidation of the surfaces of parts (corrosion destruction);
- due to aggressive environments exposure;
- due to prolonged operation (fatigue failure) or exposure to a large number of cyclic loads;
- due to unacceptably high temperatures exposure, at which the structure of the alloy changes (with unacceptable heating, repair welding, etc.).
There are specific features of conducting metal utensils, parts of heating systems, pipeline valves, seals of active energy meters, water meters, jewelry expertise, which are described in the relevant sections.
