The most common defects in household and automobile refrigerators and freezers are:
- non-compliance of the temperature regime with the characteristics and requirements of the technical regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Belarus declared by the manufacturer;
- failures of refrigeration equipment due to leakage of refrigerant from the heat-conducting circuit;
- cracks, brittle destruction of the refrigerator;
- high noise level;
- excessive power consumption.
The most common causes of refrigeration equipment malfunctioning are:
- improper manufacture of the heat-conducting circuit;
- improper repair of the heat-conducting circuit;
- the use of low-quality polymeric materials for the manufacture of a refrigerator or freezer cabinet by the manufacturer;
- violation of the rules for transportation of refrigeration equipment;
- operation of refrigeration equipment in unacceptable places (near heating appliances, in direct sunlight, in closed niches);
- improper installation of refrigeration equipment (without back stops, despite the obligatory requirement of the manufacturer to observe the gap between the rear wall of the refrigerator and wall partitions; a significant deviation of the refrigeration equipment from the horizontal level, tilting the refrigerator towards the door);
- improper operation and maintenance of refrigeration equipment (overloading the compartments with food products, untimely defrosting, excessive contamination of the refrigeration equipment compartments with subsequent clogging of the melt water drain pipe, defrosting of the freezer compartments with damage to the walls of the compartments with sharp hard objects).
