The Forensic expert kollegium conducts all types of lighting calculations, including calculation of the natural light coefficient.

Sufficient natural light is essential for work and living. Natural lighting is the illumination of premises by direct or reflected light of the sky, penetrating through the light openings in the outer enclosing structure.

Natural lighting is divided into side, top and combined (top and side). Side natural lighting is called natural lighting of the room through the light openings in the outer walls, the top one - through the lanterns, light openings in the walls in places where the heights of the building differ.

Natural lighting should be provided in rooms with permanent residence of people. The normalized indicator of natural illumination is the coefficient of natural light (CNL). CNL is the ratio of natural illumination created at some point of a given place inside the room by the direct light of the sky and eflections from the inner surfaces of the room, to the simultaneous outer horizontal.

CNL calculations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of building codes SN 2.04.03-2020 «Natural and artificial lighting», sanitary standards and rules «Requirements for natural, artificial and combined lighting of residential and public buildings», sanitary standards and rules «Requirements for conditions labor of employees and the maintenance of production facilities». 

As initial data for carrying out calculations of the coefficient of natural light, it is necessary to provide the Forensic expert kollegium with:

• general development plan;
• heights of buildings and structures;
• floor plans of the building / plan of the apartment / plan of the specific room for which the calculation is carried out;
• plans for the facades of the building / apartment / specific premises for which the calculation is carried out;
• a plan for the location of workplaces of the building (industrial or public), for which the calculation is carried out, the category of visual work.

In case of insufficient natural illumination for the design of corrective measures, the specialists of the Forensic expert kollegium must indicate how it is more preferable to eliminate the identified inconsistencies with the requirements of technical regulatory legal acts: 

• by increasing the area of window openings;
• by optimizing jobs;
• design of additional overhead lighting.
