The Forensic expert kollegium conducts physical and mechanical testing of furniture products according to all quality indicators.

Product testing is a necessary stage of the procedure for confirming compliance of the given products with the requirements of legislative acts, standards, technical regulations or conditions, norms, and rules.

The Forensic expert kollegium conducts testing of the following types of furniture products:

  • furniture for sitting and lying;
  • furniture for educational institutions;
  • bookstore furniture;
  • furniture for trade enterprises;
  • glass products for furniture;
  • children’s preschool furniture;
  • furniture for preschool institutions;
  • cabinet furniture;
  • textile materials, bedding accessories, soft furniture elements, curtains, drapes.

During testing, compliance of products with safety requirements and quality standards established for the given products is determined, as well as compliance of the functional indicators of the product with future operating conditions, reliability, and resistance of the product to various external influences.

The Forensic expert kollegium conducts testing of upholstered furniture for sitting and lying, during which the following are determined:

  • softness indicators;
  • durability of soft elements;
  • strength and durability of beds;
  • residual deformation;
  • stability;
  • static strength of sidewalls;
  • strength of the base (bed platform) under impact load;
  • strength of supports;
  • strength of the storage compartment base;
  • strength of the product under impact load.

During testing of cabinet furniture of various functional purposes, the Forensic expert kollegium conducts:

  • strength, deformation, and durability testing;
  • stability testing;
  • bending strength and rigidity testing;
  • fastening strength testing;
  • rod holder strength testing.

Testing at the Forensic expert kollegium is carried out in a testing laboratory using special equipment and verified measuring instruments included in the State Register of Measuring Instruments of the Republic of Belarus, as well as according to methods established in technical normative legal acts effective in the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the Customs Union.

Testing combines experimental studies and theoretical calculations. During the studies, both destructive and non-destructive methods may be used. Upon completion of testing, a report is prepared confirming or denying compliance of the products with the requirements of regulatory documents.
