The following are subject to examination during non-destructive testing of elevator metal structures and mechanisms:

  • elevator cabin:
    • uprights and braces of the elevator cabin frame;
    • upper and lower beams of the elevator cabin;
    • elevator cabin panels;
    • floor frame of freight elevators;

    • counterweight load;
  • winch and blocks:
    • frame, subframe, and beams for blocks;
    • winch housing;
    • worm gear pair;
    • winch brake half-coupling;
  • flywheel;
  • brake:

  • tensioning device of the overspeed governor and compensating ropes (chains).

At the customer’s request, experts of the Forensic expert kollegium will also conduct vibration diagnostics of the thrust bearing assembly and drives.

During non-destructive testing of elevator metal structures and mechanisms, cracks in the base metal of parts and welded joints (heat-affected zone), residual deformation values, degree of physical wear, corrosion depth, and deviations from the geometric shape and positioning of parts of elevator metal structures and mechanisms are identified.

Non-destructive testing of elevator metal structures and mechanisms at the Forensic expert kollegium is carried out by full-time qualified specialists who are both experts in the design and safe operation of elevators and construction freight-passenger hoists, as well as certified specialists in various methods of non-destructive testing.

All measurements and tests are carried out using verified measuring instruments included in the State register of Measuring instruments of the Republic of Belarus, according to methods established in technical normative legal acts effective in the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the Customs Union.
