The Forensic expert kollegium carries out all types of calculations of the coefficient of natural illumination and insolation of premises, as well as insolation of the adjacent territory of buildings.
Sufficient natural light is essential for work and living. Natural lighting is the illumination of premises by direct or reflected light of the sky, penetrating through the light openings in the outer enclosing structure.
Natural lighting is divided into side, top and combined (top and side). Side natural lighting is called natural lighting of the room through the light openings in the outer walls, the top one - through the lanterns, light openings in the walls in places where the heights of the building differ.
Living rooms, kitchens, non-sewered latrines, entrance vestibules (except those leading directly to apartments), stairwells, common corridors in corridor-type residential buildings, as well as public premises in dormitories must have natural lighting. For niche kitchens, it is allowed to provide natural lighting with a second light.
The ratio of the total area of light openings (the area of the light opening is determined by the dimensions along the outer edges of the window opening and the opening of the balcony door at the level of the bottom of its glazed part) of all living rooms and the kitchen in the apartment (living cell of dormitories) to the total floor area of these premises should not exceed 1: 5.5. The smallest ratio for each of these rooms should be 1:8, and for rooms located in the attic floors with inclined roof windows, this ratio can be 1:10.
An important parameter for providing rooms with sunlight is the time of insolation. The duration of the insolation of the room is the time of passage of the sun's beam during the day through the inner plane of the light opening from one of its vertical faces to another. The duration of continuous insolation of apartments during the day at the estimated time of the year (from March 22 to September 22) should be at least 2.5 hours and be provided:
- in one-, two- and three-room apartments - by at least one living room;
- in four-, five- and six-room apartments - by at least two living rooms;
- in apartments with more than six rooms - by at least three living rooms.
In apartments where all living rooms are insulated, or when residential buildings are located in particularly difficult urban conditions (historically valuable urban environment, existing buildings, expensive preparation of the territory, areas of citywide and regional centers), it is allowed to reduce the duration of insolation by 30 minutes. In case of intermittent insolation of apartments, its total duration should be increased by 30 minutes.
When carrying out lighting calculations of insolation of premises at Forensic expert kollegium, licensed software AWP «Acoustics 3D» with the «KEO» (coefficient of natural light) module is used.
