The most common defects of laptops (netbooks, tablets) are:
- inability to turn on the device;
- lack of initialization (when you press the power button, the processor fan starts, which constantly rotates at high speeds, the power indicators and the CaspLock, NumLock, etc. buttons light up, but do not go out, no further loading occurs, the device screen does not light up, reading from the drive does not occur on hard magnetic disks);
- rebooting or shutting down the laptop during the motherboard BIOS initialization stage;
- no boot from the hard drive or the hard drive is not detected;
- the operating system does not boot, the device reboots when the operating system loads;
- laptop screen not working;
- the laptop does not operate on battery power, the battery does not charge;
- keyboard malfunction;
- destruction or improper functioning of laptop connectors:
- power connectors (charging);
- USB connectors;
- audio jacks (for headphones);
- network connector (Lan);
- mechanical damage to the laptop case.
The most common causes of laptop malfunctions are:
- defects in the manufacture of laptop computer components (manufacturing defects);
- ingress of various liquids into the laptop (flooding);
- unacceptable mechanical impact on the laptop body during transportation or operation;
- dust or pet hair getting inside the laptop case through the ventilation holes, which leads to its overheating and failure;
- insects entering the laptop body;
- pressing the keyboard keys too hard;
- small foreign objects on the laptop keyboard when closing it or slamming the laptop suddenly and forcefully;
- installation of malicious software;
- premature failure of parts directly involved in creating an image on the screen: decoders, backlight lamps, inverters, power supplies and matrix cables;
- improper repairs.
