The most common video card defects are:
- turning off the system after startup, after which there is no possibility of restarting it until the system unit of the personal computer is completely disconnected from the power supply (when you try to turn it on again, the above procedure is performed);
- absence of signal on the monitor screen accompanied by a continuous sound signal when the power supply is turned on;
- the appearance on the monitor screen of various kinds of artifacts (lines, stripes, dots);
- a blue screen appears after installing software (drivers) for the video card;
- complete or partial absence of image on the monitor screen;
- inability to receive a signal from the video card after installing software on the video card and subsequent reboot of the system.

- improper manufacturing of electronic components (parts) of the video card (manufacturing defect);
- mechanical damage to the contact connector, metallization tracks, electronic components of the video card as a result of improper user actions when assembling or servicing (cleaning) the system unit of a personal computer;
- burnout of the electronic components of the video card due to improper power supply or overheating caused by the inoperability of the cooling system due to its contamination;
- failure of the video card due to the installation of malicious software instead of the original drivers;
- short circuit due to metal objects, food, and various liquids getting on the motherboard;
- failure of the video card BIOS software due to unqualified user actions;
- errors in the design of electronic components of a video card (manufacturing defect);
- leakage of electrolyte from capacitors located on the video card.
