The Forensic expert kollegium analyzes the causes of destruction and studies of the quality of metal structures and corrugated sheets, including the study of geometric dimensions, welded joints, and coating quality.
Metal structures are used for bridge construction, metro construction, industrial and civil construction, and serve as the basis for many buildings of various purposes. Corrugated sheets are widely used in roofing, facade, finishing works, in the construction of floors, as well as in the construction of fences and enclosures.
It is not uncommon for questions to arise regarding the quality of products made from metal structures of various types: welded closed bent profiles of various sections; flat and spatial frames, as well as corrugated sheets used as roofing material, cladding material, material for walls, fences.
The most common causes of destruction of products made from metal structures and corrugated sheets, metal structures materials are:
- improper manufacturing of metal structures, corrugated sheets (defects in casting, rolling, welding, preparation and application of paint and varnish coatings);
- improper installation of metal structures and corrugated sheet products;
- exceeding the permissible load during operation;
- use of assembled products from metal structures and corrugated sheets, the metal structures themselves, for purposes other than their intended purpose;
- unacceptable external influence (mechanical, thermal) on metal structures and elements of metal structures.
If necessary, when conducting a study of the quality and causes of destruction of metal structures and corrugated sheets, specialists of the Forensic expert kollegium carry out engineering strength calculations. Calculations of the strength properties of metal structures and corrugated sheets are carried out using licensed software - the KOMPAS 3D-V16 computer-aided design system with the APM FEM strength analysis system.
