The Forensic expert kollegium conducts expertise of all types of door blocks (frames) and panels.

Expertise of door blocks and panels is a study of the consumer properties (quality indicators) of doors, including used ones, determining the causes of defects and the percentage of quality reduction based on existing defects using organoleptic and documentary methods. Expertise of door blocks and panels is carried out in order for the consumer/manufacturer to obtain evidence of their innocence in the presence/absence of defects in the material, work or in the preparation of design documentation that affect the operational properties of the doors.

Based on expert practice over the past three years, the most common defects in door frames and panels made of wood and wood materials are:

  • non-compliance of the shape (deviation from flatness, straightness, perpendicularity of the sides) of the product with the requirements of technical regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Belarus;
  • the presence of oily stains on the front surfaces of door panels;
  • deviation of the nominal dimensions of door blocks and door parts from the dimensions provided by the consumer;
  • the presence of gaps in tenon joints of wooden panels and boxes;
  • the presence of cracks at the installation site of door panels (including glass);
  • the presence of peeling of rolled cladding materials along the edges and faces of doors;
  • discrepancy between the color of the skins, flashings, and layouts made of wood with a transparent finishing coating and the color of the door panels;
  • shedding (flaking) of the paintwork of door blocks and door parts;
  • the presence of obvious defects in the paintwork (bubbles, omissions of paintwork material, drips, dents, raised pile, shagreen, scratches, streaks, printing defects - blurriness and distortion of the pattern, differences in color intensity) on the front surfaces of the doors;
  • the presence of mechanical damage (chips, scratches, nicks, dents, etc.) on all surfaces of door blocks and door parts.

The most common causes of defects are:

  • improper installation of door blocks (fastening door frames, incorrect installation of trims, strips, layouts);
  • violation of the rules for operating door blocks;
  • violation of the technological process of manufacturing door blocks;
  • violation of transportation rules;
  • failure to provide complete and reliable information on the rules for the care and operation of doors;
  • use of low-quality materials.
