During an expert examination of ventilation systems, the experts of the Forensic expert kollegium perform the following:
Determination of outdoor air microclimate parameters (temperature, relative humidity, wind direction, and wind speed at the time of the examination).
Determination of microclimate parameters (temperature and relative humidity) in the premises under examination (kitchen, bathroom, living room, or administrative and utility premises).
Verification of the passability (absence of blockages) of ventilation ducts in natural ventilation systems and pipelines of mechanical ventilation systems.
Measurement of the aerodynamic characteristics of the ventilation system (supply air volume, exhaust air volume, air exchange imbalance values), and comparison of these indicators with regulatory values.
Any non-compliance with the requirements established for these indicators is considered a defect in the installation of engineering ventilation systems.
The main factors causing defects in ventilation systems are:
- improper design of ventilation systems;
- failure to comply with the requirements of design documentation and technical regulatory legal acts during construction and installation works;
- failure to comply with the operating requirements of ventilation systems.
Examination of the objects of expertise at the Forensic expert kollegium is carried out through visual inspection of the condition of the object, as well as the necessary control measurements and inspections, with the results recorded on-site. The measuring instruments and auxiliary equipment used during the inspection undergo periodic state verification (calibration) in accordance with the established procedure.
Based on the results of the examination, non-conformities and defects are identified, their classification and nature are determined, and recommendations are provided regarding the elimination of the identified defects, the repair and reconstruction of the ventilation system as a whole, as well as its operation.
